HDP
HDP is for Hinsdale Dance Academy dancers who focus on Jazz and Lyrical/Contemporary styles. They practice ballet as a supporting style for their Jazz and Lyrical/Contemporary, but they do not compete ballet. HDP is a great path for dancers who want to a high commitment team experience in the Jazz/Contemporary realm, pursue Jazz or Contemporary professionally as adults, prepare for high school and college dance teams, or for professional sports dance teams.
Please note, if your young dancer is looking to be on the path towards HBT, JUCO is that desired path. It is not impossible to switch between companies: however, staying more classically focused does benefit the young dancer who wants to pursue ballet specifically as they get older.
Company Snapshot
HDP will be broken down into two required groups that rehearse on Mondays with Project Level A in one group and Project Level B in a second group. Dancers will also be selected for solos, duets, trios, small groups etc. in various styles including Jazz, Lyrical, Contemporary or Musical Theatre at the Director's discretion. HDP competes in 4-5 competitions per season starting in February and ending in May. Nutcracker is optional for HDP dancers, Recital is required. Dancers are required to be registered for classes for the entire school year, August 18th-June 27th.

Auditions
All dancers must audition for company every year, this allows us to see current members next to prospective members and choose solos, duets, trios, small groups, etc. for the following year.
Fee: $20.00 per dancer (cash, check, or charge)
Please arrive 15-20 minutes before your audition time to fill out the form, pin numbers and warm-up.
Location: Hinsdale Dance Academy- Studio H
Please note, it is our goal to provide as many opportunities as possible, however, if we do not feel like your dancer is ready for a company experience, they may not be accepted. In these instances, we will communicate what your dancer needs to do to prepare for these opportunities in the future.
