Hinsdale Dance Academy's Young Children's Program

The Young Children's Program creates a nurturing environment for young dancers to begin their dance education by learning the very basics of dance: a love for movement, an ear for music and a joy of learning. YCP also prepares them for our higher level curriculum;

*You must be apart of a class by January 13th, 2027 in order to participate in the Spring Dance Concert (Recital) that takes place in June.

Mommy and Me is an interactive class where children and parents can discover the joy of movement.  We believe a child’s (and parent’s) first experience with dance should make a positive and lasting impression. Children have fun in a safe, creative, and nurturing environment.  Classes available for children ages 0-2 and parent or caregiver.

Pre-Ballet provides children age 3-6 developmentally appropriate ballet instruction.  This introduction to ballet lays the foundation for our higher level curriculums.  These classes promote beginning technique, coordination, rhythm, and musicality.  Pre-Ballet I is designed for children age 3 to 4, and Pre-Ballet II is designed for children ages 5 to 6.

Hinsdale Dance Academy also offers Tap/Jazz, and Jazz/Hip Hop combo classes for our Young Children’s Program.  This class introduces children to the basic steps of Tap,  Jazz and Hip Hop.  This class promotes musicality, coordination, and rhythm, as well as sequencing, patterning, and spatial relationships.  Tap/Jazz I is available for children age 3 to 4. Tap/Jazz II and Jazz/Hip Hop II classes are available for children age 5 to 6.

* Children in Pre-Ballet I must be potty-trained and be able to remain in class without a parent or guardian.

Young Children's Program Uniform Requirements
All uniforms are available at Saxton Dance Shoppe or online order from the brand site. Please purchase these items as soon as possible as they may take 6-8 weeks if ordered.

Please note, hair should be in a slick bun for all classes (no whispies or loose hairs)
Please bring a water bottle to class.

Drop-off/Pick-up Procedure
Parents/guardians must bring dancers to classroom and pick them up at the classroom after class.
